Beloved Parishioners and Friends of Saint Anthony’s,
As we enter into the Season of the Glorious Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ we should remember to join each other for spiritual celebration, to embrace those less fortunate with charity, and to reflect and to be grateful for our blessings.
Christmas calls us to radiate God’s compassion and forgiveness. Each year, the MYO’s service reminds us all to embrace the true spirit of the holiday season. Please take time to thank them for their efforts distributing twenty-five Thanksgiving dinners and spearheading the annual Bread & Roses gift drive for the less fortunate people in our community. Each of you who volunteer to cook, read, serve, or to teach Sunday school, on a weekly and monthly basis, adds to the charitable life of our parish and remind us to give back during this season.
I want to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to all of you for your continuous love toward your home of Saint Anthony’s and thank you for using your time, talents, and treasures to strengthen our community and unite it stronger. Jesus came so that we may have life and have it abundantly. This is the life that I hope all of you will discover and experience during this time of year. May your homes and families be blessed with the presence of Christ.
As we move towards the New Year 2012, let us reflect on all of the wonderful accomplishments that our parish has been blessed with in 2011.
- The continued support of Club 50 members has allowed us to replace an air conditioner unit in the church, replace the ceiling tiles and windows in the church hall, and to update accessories in the kitchen.
- Mahrajan 2011: It was a Great S-U-C-C-E-S-S!!! The Good news that our Mahrajan of 2011 made $ 34,000.00! Thank you and congratulations on a job well done! Our annual Mahrajan would not be possible without the hard work and generosity of our parishioners and friends.
- Let us be grateful for the Maronite Young Adults that represented our parish at The third National MYA Leadership Conference in Los Angeles CA; the Nine MYA bring back with them the passion to help our Church continue to grow.
- The Maronite Young Adults (MYA) T-shirt Fundraiser.
- We have expanded the group of women who quietly pray for the sick of our parish.
